Flat vs Folded Menu Formats

There are two main format options available depending on the style and amount of content.

Flat Menus

Folded Menus

A folded format creates a four-page booklet, allowing for additional content such as wine pairings, extended course descriptions, or personal messages. This option offers a more traditional, keepsake-style presentation.

Ideal for completing your wedding table setting with a professional, coordinated finish.

Seven formats are available: A6 flat, DL flat, A5 flat, 150mm square flat, small folded (A5 to A6), large folded (A4 to A5), and square folded (150mm). All are printed full colour on 350gsm premium digital cardstock and supplied with envelopes.

Quantities run from 25 to 200 in increments of 25: 25, 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200.

Flat menus are single cards printed on both sides, giving two printable surfaces. Folded menus are scored and folded to give four printable surfaces, opening like a small booklet. Folded formats suit longer menus or a more formal presentation; flat formats suit shorter menus and a cleaner, contemporary look.

Printed stationery cannot be corrected after production. Proofread all dish names, course order, allergen information, and any credited producers or suppliers carefully before submitting. Confirm the final menu with your venue or caterer before the artwork goes to print. A menu that does not match what is served creates an avoidable problem on the day.

Supply a print-ready PDF in CMYK colour mode with 3mm bleed on all sides at the correct finished dimensions. For folded formats, supply the artwork as a flat sheet showing all four panels. Confirm the layout and fold direction with PrintReady.ie before finalising. Keep text at least 4mm inside the trim line.

350gsm premium digital cardstock, a substantial weight that holds its shape upright at a place setting without support and coordinates with other stationery items in the PrintReady.ie wedding range.

They do not have to, but a coordinated suite with consistent fonts, colours, and design elements across invitations, ceremony sheets, menus, and place cards gives a more cohesive result on the day. If ordering multiple stationery items, supply artwork with consistent design elements across all pieces.

Order one per guest place setting as a minimum. Some couples order one per couple at shared tables to reduce cost. Add a small buffer of five to ten extra for late additions to the guest list and to keep a few as keepsakes.

Menus are typically finalised once the catering is confirmed with the venue, often four to eight weeks before the wedding. Allow at least one to two weeks from artwork submission for production and delivery. Order earlier during busy summer wedding season when print production lead times can extend.

Yes. The A5 flat and large folded formats give the most space for detailed content including wine pairings, allergen notes, and course descriptions. For shorter menus, the A6 or DL flat formats are sufficient.
