Saddle stitching is the most common way to bind a booklet. The pages are printed in sheets, folded in half and stapled through the fold, so the booklet opens flat and stays light. It works well for anything from 8 to 64 pages and is a cost effective choice for short to medium runs.

Choosing Your Cover

A self cover uses the same paper as the inside pages, which keeps the cost down and suits programmes, price lists and short guides. A heavy 350gsm cover gives the booklet a firmer, more premium feel and is a better fit for catalogues, brochures and anything that will be handled often. On a heavy cover booklet you can add a laminated cover for extra protection and a smoother finish.

Choosing Your Paper

Gloss paper gives bright, vivid colour and works well for photography. Silk has a smooth, softer finish that reads more easily and suits text heavy pages. Text paper comes in 115gsm for a lighter booklet or 170gsm for a thicker, more substantial feel.
