Returns, Reprints, Refunds, Cancellations & Complaints
Returns, Reprints, Refunds, Cancellations & Complaints Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions of Sale. Nothing in it limits mandatory rights available under Irish consumer law.
1. Bespoke and Personalised Goods
Most Print Ready products are produced to individual specifications. These can include business cards, flyers, brochures, posters, stickers, labels, banners, signage, personalised stationery, wedding and memorial products, branded clothing, promotional products, vehicle graphics and products incorporating Customer artwork.
The statutory cooling-off right applying to many distance purchases does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Almost all of our products fall into this category. This exception does not remove statutory remedies where goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract.
2. Cancellation Requests
Contact us immediately if you wish to cancel.
Whether cancellation is possible and whether any refund is due depends on the stage reached and costs already incurred. These may include design, artwork preparation, proofs, setup, specially ordered materials, outsourced production, printing, cutting, finishing, personalisation and other work.
We may, at our discretion, agree to cancel an order where no work has begun and no cost has been incurred. Once artwork is approved, or design, setup, material or production costs have been incurred, the order cannot be cancelled and the full price remains payable. Where costs have been incurred, those reasonable costs may be deducted or remain payable where lawful.
Once bespoke/personalised Goods have entered production, cancellation may no longer be possible.
Where an order includes both personalised and standard goods, the cancellation exclusion applies to each personalised item.
3. Changes After Ordering
We will try to accommodate requested changes where practicable. Changes may affect price and turnaround. Once artwork is approved, materials committed or production started, changes may be impossible or chargeable.
4. Customer Artwork and Approved Proofs
Customers must check supplied Artwork and Proofs carefully.
If Print Ready manufactures Goods materially in accordance with Customer-supplied or approved Artwork, an error contained in that Artwork is not a Print Ready production defect.
This includes errors in spelling, names, dates, addresses, contact details, URLs, prices, QR codes, page order, images, dimensions and other content.
Where possible, we may offer a discounted reprint or goodwill credit, but are not obliged to provide a free reprint for a Customer-originated error unless required by law.
5. Reporting a Problem
If you believe Goods are defective, incorrect, damaged or materially different from the agreed specification, contact us as soon as reasonably practicable.
Please provide:
- order/invoice number;
- clear description of the alleged issue;
- quantity affected;
- photographs showing the issue and overall Goods;
- photographs of packaging where transit damage is alleged; and
- any other information reasonably necessary to investigate.
6. Preserve the Goods
Do not dispose of, alter, use up or destroy allegedly defective Goods before giving Print Ready a reasonable opportunity to inspect them where inspection is reasonably necessary.
If Goods are used after an obvious defect is discovered, this may affect what can reasonably be investigated or remedied, but does not remove mandatory rights.
7. Inspection
We may request photographs, samples or return/collection of affected Goods. Our request to inspect is not a denial of the complaint.
For Consumers, Print Ready will not make itself the sole judge of whether Goods comply with the contract and nothing in this policy shifts a legal burden of proof contrary to law.
8. Print Ready Production Error
Where investigation establishes a genuine Print Ready production error, we will provide the remedy required by law and appropriate to the circumstances.
Where legally permitted and appropriate, our preferred first remedy is usually correction, rectification or reprint of the affected Goods.
9. Partial Defects
Where a defect affects only part of an order, a remedy may be limited to the affected quantity or component where legally permitted and where the unaffected Goods remain usable and conforming.
A defect affecting a small portion of an order does not automatically entitle a Business Customer to reject or obtain a refund for the entire order.
Consumer remedies remain subject to mandatory law.
10. Reprints
A replacement/reprint is intended to put the Customer in the position they would reasonably have been in had the affected Goods been produced correctly.
Unless legally required otherwise, a reprint does not create an entitlement to retain and use both the original allegedly defective Goods and the replacement where return, destruction or non-use of the originals is reasonably requested.
11. Refunds
A refund is due only where we have confirmed a fault or where the law requires one. Where a refund is due, we will pay it within 14 days of confirming it.
Where a refund is legally due or agreed, it will normally be processed using the original payment method where practicable.
Payment-provider and banking processing times are outside our control after the refund has been submitted.
12. Colour Complaints
Screens, office printers and uncalibrated devices are not reliable colour references for commercial printing.
Reasonable differences arising from RGB/CMYK conversion, substrate, ink/toner, coating, lamination, equipment or separate production runs are not by themselves defects unless an agreed colour specification has not been met.
If colour matching is critical, this must be agreed before production.
13. Manufacturing Tolerances
Variations of up to 3 mm in trim and up to 10 percent in quantity are within tolerance, as are minor variations in folding, registration, position, finishing, dimensions, colour and substrate that occur as part of commercial production.
A variation within reasonable tolerances for the relevant production process is not ordinarily a defect.
14. Delivery Damage
For transit damage, retain the Goods and packaging and provide photographs promptly. We may need this evidence to pursue the carrier and assess the appropriate remedy.
15. Late Delivery
Estimated production or delivery dates are not guaranteed unless Print Ready expressly agreed a guaranteed deadline in writing.
For Business Customers, Print Ready is not liable for downstream loss caused by a missed event, campaign, promotion or other deadline except to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or was expressly accepted by us in writing.
For Consumers, estimated dates are not guaranteed. Where we miss an estimated date, your remedy is as set out by law. No compensation is payable for events or deadlines missed.
16. Standard Non-Personalised Consumer Goods
Where a Consumer buys standard Goods online that are not made to specification or clearly personalised, statutory distance-contract cancellation rights may apply.
Where applicable, the Consumer generally has 14 days from receipt to notify cancellation and a further 14 days to return the Goods, subject to legal conditions and exclusions.
Contact us before returning Goods so we can provide instructions.
17. Return Costs
Where a return results from a Print Ready error or where applicable consumer law requires us to bear return costs, we will do so.
For a lawful change-of-mind return of standard non-personalised Goods, return costs may be the Customer's responsibility where permitted by law and appropriately disclosed.
18. Business Customers
Business Customers must give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify or reprint an affected order before incurring third-party replacement costs or claiming consequential loss.
Any liability remains subject to the Business Customer provisions in our Terms & Conditions of Sale.
19. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Customers should contact us first regarding an order dispute so that we have a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve it.
Nothing in this section prevents a Customer from exercising a lawful card, payment-provider or statutory remedy.
We will provide evidence of the order, the approved proof and delivery to the payment provider to contest any unjustified chargeback.
20. Goodwill
A discretionary goodwill reprint, refund, discount or credit does not amount to an admission of fault or liability and does not create a precedent.

Variable Data and Personalisation Errors
Where a complaint concerns names, addresses, numbering, codes or other variable information supplied by the Customer, we will compare the finished Goods against the source data and instructions provided to us. If the Goods materially reproduce Customer-supplied data correctly, an error contained in that source data is not ordinarily a Print Ready production error. Any database checking or validation must be expressly agreed in advance.
Split Deliveries
An order may be delivered in separate consignments where reasonably necessary. Receipt of only part of an order does not by itself establish that the balance will not be supplied. If part of a consignment is missing or delayed, contact us promptly so that we can investigate. Mandatory Consumer delivery rights remain unaffected.
