Wedding stationery printing in Ireland

Your wedding stationery is the first thing guests hold. Before the dress, the flowers or the food, they have an invitation in their hand. It sets the tone, so it is worth getting right.

Think of it as a set, not a pile

The best wedding stationery looks like it belongs together. Pick one illustration style, two or three colours and one or two typefaces, then repeat them everywhere. In the image above, the same loose botanical line work and blush wash runs across the invitation, the envelope lining and the folded place card. That repetition is what makes it feel designed.

A typical suite:

  • Save the dates
  • Invitations with RSVP details
  • Envelopes (a lining or a coloured flap is a lovely touch)
  • Order of service
  • Place cards and table plans
  • Menus
  • Thank-you cards

What is on trend

  • Soft botanicals and hand-drawn illustration instead of heavy, formal borders
  • Warm neutrals and blush, sage, clay and cream rather than stark white
  • Textured, uncoated stock that feels natural in the hand
  • Lined envelopes and simple belly bands
  • Smaller, calmer layouts with lots of white space
  • Digital details: a QR code to an RSVP page or the day's schedule, kept small so it does not fight the design

Choosing paper and finish

Paper does half the work. A heavier card stock gives an invitation weight. An uncoated or natural finish suits hand-drawn artwork, while a smooth silk finish suits photography. If you are unsure, order a sample before committing to the full run, and hold it next to your fabric or flowers in daylight.

A simple checklist before you print

  1. Guest count first, then add 10 to 15 per cent for spares, late additions and keepsakes.
  2. Proof every name and date out loud, with someone else.
  3. Allow bleed (3mm) on any artwork that runs to the edge.
  4. Match envelope size to card size before you finalise artwork.
  5. Order everything in the same run where you can, so colours match across the set.

When to order

Start with save the dates early, then invitations several months ahead of the day. Design changes and guest lists take time, so leave room to breathe. Thank-you cards can wait until after the honeymoon, but design them now and you will thank yourself later.
